Introducing Our New Car and Truck Straps: Compliant with the Latest VDI 2700 Regulations

At LoadLok, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our newly developed car and truck transport straps, meticulously designed to meet the highest standards of safety and performance in vehicle transportation. With the latest VDI 2700 Blatt 8 regulations coming into effect on September 1st, 2024, our straps are not only compliant but also competitive in quality and price. In this blog post, we will walk you through the differences between our products, their unique features, and why they are the superior choice for your vehicle transport needs.

Our Product Range

We have developed three types of transport straps to cater to different vehicle types and customer preferences:

  1. Car-Strap in 35mm: Ideal for vehicles up to 4.5 tons total weight, this strap offers a lighter alternative for those preferring a narrower profile.
  2. Car-Strap in 50mm: Suitable for the same vehicle specifications as the 35mm strap, this version provides a broader and more robust feel, allowing customers to choose based on their comfort and operational needs.
  3. Truck-Strap in 50mm: Specifically designed for trucks, this strap is engineered to handle the demands of larger, heavier vehicles with ease.

Compliance and Certification

All our straps are tested and certified by TÜV Süd according to the newest VDI 2700 Blatt 8 norm, which sets the standard for securing cargo safely and effectively. This regulation specifies the necessary STF-value, sleeve length, webbing elongation, and minimum lashing capacity, ensuring that our straps are among the safest on the market. Our straps boast a certified ETA-value of 0.5, which is the market standard, reflecting the efficiency of the force generated by the ratchet reaching the opposite side of the wheel.

Innovative GlideGuard Protection Sleeves

A key feature of our transport straps is the GlideGuard Protection Sleeve, which is designed to cover at least half of the wheel surface to prevent damage during transport. The sleeve lengths are tailored to the type of strap:

  • Car-Straps: Equipped with a 120cm long sleeve, perfect for the wheels of standard cars.
  • Truck-Straps: Fitted with a 180cm long sleeve to accommodate the larger wheels of trucks.

These sleeves not only protect the wheels but also ensure the strap remains secure during transit, enhancing overall safety.

Extension Sleeve: Flexibility for Larger Wheels

In addition to our standard straps, we offer a sleeve extension piece that is 40cm long and includes a Velcro fastener. This extension can be easily attached to the existing strap sleeve to provide additional coverage, particularly useful for vehicles with wheels larger than standard sizes. The Velcro attachment allows for quick and secure placement, making it a versatile accessory for any transport scenario.

How to Use Our Straps

For optimal safety, our straps should be used as illustrated:

  1. The GlideGuard Protection Sleeve should be positioned on top of the wheel, covering at least half of the wheel surface.
  2. One hook is fixed in front of the wheel, while the other hook, which slides on the long end, is fixed behind the wheel.
  3. The short part of the strap (Ratchet + Webbing + Hook) should be secured to another position on the floor.

This setup ensures maximum stability during vehicle transport. Although we recommend using one strap per wheel for safety, the exact number of straps needed depends on the vehicle's weight, strap angle, the number of chocks, and whether the vehicle has wheel recesses.
